Bridge to Brisbane




Well I did it!!!

My sister & I walked 10kms in 1 hr 48 mins & 20 seconds. She actually beat me by 1 second even though we crossed the finish line together.

We even managed a few short jogs towards the end. Our goal was to do it under 2 hours so I'm happy that we did that.

I can't wait to do it again next year, though I will hopefully be able to jog a fair portion of it, and I will be wearing lycra! :D

It's been a while

Oh dear, I just realised how long it's been since I last blogged.

After getting under 90kg I really let my foot off the brake and lost the plot for a bit. I stopped exercising and my eating was not under control. I did keep weighing in though, and have updated my stats over to the right.

Now I'm back and more in control than ever. I've set myself a 5kg loss by my sister's wedding on the 30th October, which hopefully I should be able to achieve if I stay focussed and motivated.

I have had a good couple of weeks with exercise going on lots of walk with a friend and my neighbour friend. :) We did a big 9.5km walk last weekend in preparation for the Bridge To Brisbane that I will be walking in tomorrow with my sister. I'm not too sure about the super early start though. We have to be there well and truly by 6:00, so with travel and parking will need to leave home around 4:00am! I'll be tired before I even get to the start line let alone the finish line.



I had a good loss this week of 1kg with 0.5kg the week before. Numbers I hope I can repeat from week to week. :)

Exactly Half Way

Wow, I only just realised now when I updated my ticker, that I'm exactly half way to being at goal. There's no way I'm going to get there by my sister's wedding in October, but I'll be happy if I can drop 5kg by then. And to be at goal by my 40th birthday in January would be wonderful, so there's another goal to keep me going. :)

Last week I think I stayed the same, but this week had a good loss of 1.2kg, making me an 80's girl!!! :D

A slight gain...

After an okay week I had a gain of 200g this week (monday weighed in).

I was pretty good with my food throughout the week, but had a few social gatherings that left me snacking more than I should. Lower fat choices, but still snacking nonetheless.

So far so good this week, with exercise happening every day except for today as I was out for the day.

I got my DS to take a progress photo of me tonight.

So comparing with one of my bigger photos from December last year around the 104kg mark.





And tonight at 90 something kilos. :)

Woo Hoo!!!

2.5kg down for the week!!!!! :D

I guess technically only half of that is new weight lost, but heck I'm as happy as a pig in mud.

All in all I've had a pretty good week. I've eaten right and exercised on most days. The days I didn't exercise, the next day I've then done a longer walk to make up for it.

I think I've done pretty well especially seeing as I also have AF. I know I know TMI, but it all makes a difference.

So this week I shall continue on the same way. It's a public holiday here and looking pretty dismal, so I'll try to get half an hour on the treadmill in between breaking up fights between the boys. Aaarrgggh!!

Update


I thought it was about time I updated my blog with my progress for the week.

Things are going good. :) I've managed to exercise every day except for yesterday, unless you count walking around doing the grocery shopping. LOL This morning I went for an hours walk to the shops and back, so that should make up for yesterday.

While there I bought the new Weight Watchers magazine and a few things for lunch. I made toasted turkish pide with avocado, spinach & rocket, 97% fat free ham, and a poached egg. It was very nice. :)

A slight hiccup ......

It seems my weight loss efforts have suffered a slight hiccup. It started when DH went away on a work trip about 2 weeks ago. I decided on the Thursday night that I would treat the boys to KFC on the way home from guitar practice. Bearing in mind that I had not eaten any KFC since at least January, and not at all while I had been losing weight.

I shall add here that KFC is my fast food drug of choice. And it behaved exactly like a drug. Saturday night my eldest had gone to see the bull riding with a mate, middle child was at his mate's for a sleepover, so it was just youngest son & myself at home. He got McDonalds and I had Brodie's chicken burger & chips. This led into Sunday's bad eating of pizza for dinner, which then snowballed into Monday's KFC for lunch.

To say I was disgusted with myself is an understatement. To resist KFC for so long and then have it launch me onto the road to takeaway hell. :( I know ultimately it was up to me, but hell I enjoyed it.

And now I pay the price, as of course I did not exercise during this week from hell and consequently have gained exactly 2kg since my last weigh in on the 22 May.

So here's to a new start. And time to exercise .............

Early weigh in.

I decided to weigh in a couple of days early this week. Mainly because I am going out tonight and will be having a few drinks and more than likely eating too much. But also seeing as I didn't weigh last week, I wanted to see the results from this week. :)

Very happy overall with a 1kg loss for the week, or 2 weeks if you take into account me not weighing in last week due to AF.

I didn't exercise every day, I skipped Thursday & Friday, but plan some form of exercise today. Probably the cross trainer & treadmill I think.

Today I faffed around all morning doing the laundry, Facebook, more laundry, then made some banana bread for school lunches. By this stage I couldn't face the thought of getting on the treadmill for a mindless walk, so I ended up putting on my shoes, slapped on some sunscreen and got out in the fresh air.

I probably did about half an hours walk, with a few hills thrown in. But best of all I felt great once I got home. :)

No Weigh In Today

Morning. :) And what a grey & dismal morning it is in Brisbane. Hubby is home today so he's doing the school run for me. I have a heap of housework to get through, but am planning on exercising first. I figure I might give that cross trainer a go. I plan to aim for 10 minutes to start with as I remember how brutal they are the first few times. LOL

Anyway, I decided not to weigh in today as AF has reared her ugly head and she's never nice to me on the scales. Plus I need to put some new batteries in the scales. And how cold is it of a morning now!! Ugh to stripping off for weigh ins. LOL :D

I must stop procastinating now and get moving.

You've Got To Love A Bargain!!

One of the streets in our estate had a few houses having a garage sale this morning. So I headed down with 2 of the boys in tow. I managed to pick up a few things, some tupperware and a brand new backpack. I spotted a cross trainer there for $50, but ummed and ahhed about it all morning.

So after we'd been home and had breakfast I sent DS15 to see if it was still for sale. It was still there and was now $40, so DH went down and had a good look over it, and got it for $30. It is perfect! Now we just have to find a spot for it. It will fit in the family room where the treadmill is but DH's grandfather's old recliner might need a new home. I've been on at it for years now to get it restored, but I think it's past that now. :(





I've once again been feeling pretty unmotivated this weekend and have only exercised the once. I'm hoping I will feel motivated with new equipment to use. :)

Happy Mother's Day

Some mornings I would love to sleep in, but once I wake the toilet calls and my back seizes up just lying there, so I have to get up.

Two out of my three boys are up and husband is reading the paper, with not a single Happy Mother's Day from any of them. Oh well, I guess I am in here with my coffee. A busy day planned with DS13's football game, laying my Nan's plaque at the cemetry, and lunch with the inlaws, followed by a visit to my family.

Technically weigh in isn't until tomorrow but I decided to weigh in a day early seeing as I would be having some form of Italian for lunch. I also had a few drinks last night, I know breaking my alcohol ban, but anyway, I weighed in at 1.1kg lighter. And would you believe I hadn't really exercised all week!

Monday we did the big bushwalk, then I did nothing until yesterday when I went for 2 walks along our local walking tracks. First one in the morning with a friend and then later in the afternoon with same friend's family to feed the ducks, though the kids ended up feeding the horses as the ducks weren't interested.

New Weigh In Monday

Yayy I survived the weekend with no alcohol passing my lips. Ok, if I'm being totally honest I will admit to a sip of DH's beer, but that was it. No rum whatsoever! :D I was rewarded with an 800g loss this week. I'm on a roll! :)

I never ended up exercising yesterday, but today we went for a drive up to Mt Glorious, and went on a 5km bushwalk. Most of it uphill on the way back, so I worked up quite a sweat. Though my youngest wasn't too happy with me charging ahead and kept yelling out for me too stop. LOL





We then had a lovely picnic lunch and stopped at Samford for a play at the park, and then a Macca's ice cream on the way home. I was good and never had one, just a few licks of DH's.

Lovely Walking Weather

It is beautiful weather here at the moment, so I slathered myself in sunscreen, donned a hat, grabbed my phone & earphones and hit the pavement. Well make that pavement, gravel road and bushland.

I worked out I did close to 3km in just over half an hour. It's such a lovely area to walk in with lots of walking tracks beyond the golf course.

I've been thinking of doing the Bridge to Brisbane in August, so will need to up my walking to prepare.

This is what I struggle with every weekend, so I have decided that weigh in day will now be on a Monday.

I'm sure I will keep more on track over the weekend and be a bit more accountable.

I haven't had too bad a week. It did take me a while to get into the swing of things, especially with having the boys home due to a public holiday on Monday. I did exercise Wednesday, Thursday & today. Tuesday was spent at my youngest son's school watching him at his sports day. Though I did a fair bit of walking from one event to the next. ;)

Another long weekend here in Queensland this weekend, so my aim is to exercise each day and to watch what goes in my mouth. I may even try to keep a food diary so may even blog that.

Mid-week Update

Just a quick update.

I've been not too bad this week so far. My eating has been on track and I have exercised yesterday & today. I was off track a little over the weekend with no exercise and a few drinks and nibbles on Saturday night. I'd had a rather stressful day trying to work out how to get DS13's Ipod Touch working. It was his birthday present and I was so disappointed that I couldn't get it working. It turned out it was a problem with our anti-virus blocking some parts of Itunes. We finally got it working, then my parents arrived for a bbq, so I figured to have a few drinks (all with Coke Zero though).

A friend posted this photo of me on Facebook yesterday. This is what I hope to look like come October. The dress I'm wearing is what I hope to fit into for my sister's wedding.

No change

No change this week. Though I am not surprised with AF due and with the gain I had after Easter and our few days up the coast.

I've been good with my eating this week and have exercised Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday with 30 minutes on the treadmill each day.

A big weekend with a birthday bbq for my son who turns 13 tomorrow, then another bbq on Sunday. My plan is no alcohol and no bad nibblies.

Home from Holidays and I think I Left My Motivation Behind!


Yes, all motivation as left the building. I seem to get short bursts of motivation, "yeah I can do this", "tomorrow will be a new day", but come morning I've got nothing!

We had a lovely few days away. Our apartment was really nice and the weather was great. I did 2 morning walks with my sister and did lots of walking to and from the beach, and to and from my parents apartment a few units up the road.



My eating wasn't too out of control. A few drinks each evening and some nibblies were probably the worst of it.

Oh except for the fish & chips I had one night. I was craving them all day, so DH got them for dinner. Boy I enjoyed it, but geez my stomach didn't afterwards. That grease did not agree with me at all!

So what am I going to do to get my mojo back?

I can identify where I am going wrong.

1. No exercise

So I will start off getting back on my treadmill for at least 30 minutes each day.

2. Not enough water through the day.

Aim for 2 litres each day.

3. Nowhere near enough veges or fruit being eaten.

Tomorrow I will be doing a big fruit & vege shop to restock the fridge with healthy alternatives.

I've found that instead of a salad sandwich and fruit for lunch I've been having a couple of eggs, which in itself aren't too bad, but the veges are lacking.


Due to being away last Friday, I didn't weigh in. But I couldn't help myself and weighed in when I got back from our holiday. I put on about 1 kilo from my previous weigh in. I don't plan on blogging this officially on my chart, but will take my weight this coming Friday as my new weight.

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone! :)

Not a bad loss this week, though a little more would have been better. I've exercised sporadically this week.

Weekend - Nothing
Monday - Half hour treadmill
Tuesday - Nothing, though I did vacuum, upstairs & downstairs, plus mopped, so did raise quite a sweat
Wednesday - Nothing (was at the hairdressers and running around for the day, not literally running, but you know what I mean).
Thursday - Half hour treadmill plus 10 minutes boxing on the Wii Sports Active.

My treadmill workouts are a bit more intensive seeing as DH thought it was a good idea to elevate the treadmill without telling me. LOL I Thought I was finding it a bit tougher!

Today I have the washing pile from hell to get through, so plan to find some time on the treadmill this afternoon. DH is working 12 hour shifts all over Easter, then we are heading off for some time up the Coast next week. I can't wait for that and plan to do a few walks on the beach in the early morning.


Confession for the week: I hereby confess to eating 3 pieces of rocky road that DH bought home from work yesterday. It was homemade and was devine! My easter treat I shall call it. ;)

Yes I've Been Slack

Oh dear 2 weeks and no updates from me. Which would be because I have been feeling so unmotivated and consequently have not been eating right and exercising has been a real chore.

I haven't really deviated too much from my eating plan, but portion size at dinner has been a problem. Also having a few drinks on the weekends has thrown me off course.

I think I said this once before, but I should probably change my weigh in day to a Monday, that way making me more accountable for what goes in my mouth over the weekend. And I think it will stop that, "oh I had a good loss, I can treat myself" mentality.

I didn't bother to weigh in last week as AF was due and I knew that the scales would be up, so figured why torture myself? LOL

So this week I have been a litle better with exercise. I have walked on the treadmill nearly every day this week, (sorry have lost track of when I walked, but know I definitely did for the past 3 days).

I also need to up my water intake and start having salads again for lunch.

So back on track and here's to a good weekend! :D

No exercise this week

Even with no exercise this week I've managed to lose 1.2kg!! I am so happy with that. Probably more due to me not losing last week as well I think.

This week I have been feeling pretty crappy with the start of a chest infection. So I've laid off the exercise except for Monday where I did about half an hour on the Wii.

My goal now is to not go silly over the weekend and maintain that weight loss.

No Change

No change this week. Probably expected seeing as I was working off last weekends blowout.

Today is our 17th wedding anniversary. DH surprised me with movie tickets so my parents will babysit tonight while we go out for dinner & a movie. :)

It's still raining here. I'm officially over it. There always seems to be a pile of laundry to be done and buckets of clothes soaking all over the place.

Now to work up the energy to get on the treadmill this morning. I will do it!!

It's Raining, It's Pouring .....

and has been for days now. Thank goodness for my trusty treadmill. Rain, hail or shine it can be used. To be honest, it's had more use these past 7 weeks than it has had in the last year. :/

I've been better with my eating this week. Though with the cooler weather I was craving something warm for lunch on Monday, so I had a Healthy Choice Lasagne, cut it in half and had half each day with a big salad.

Tonight we are having fettucine marinara minus the garlic bread. ;)

Monday - 1 hour on treadmill at 4.5 km/hr
Tuesday - half hour on treadmill at 5km/hr
Wednesday - half hour on treadmill at 5km/hr

New Start

After a pretty shocking weekend of off track eating and no exercise, I need to get back into it.

So, back to lots of water throughout the day, fruit for snacks, and I need to plan meals a bit better over the weekends. Also I will aim for an hours exercise each day this week.

I had a few too many drinks over the course of the weekend and even though I didn't go to DH's Aunt's 60th birthday celebrations due to DS12 having football, I couldn't resist some of the leftovers that DH bought home. They were pretty much deep fried cocktail type foods so not the best thing to have.

Okay, sitting here isn't getting anything done. Off to vacuum & mop then jump on the treadmill. Hopefully there's something interesting on tv to watch while I walk. I got right into the winter olympics and found the time would fly while I was walking. LOL

I'm Back!!!

After having no computer for a week I'm back. Boy I've missed my blog and the net in general, particularly Facebook. LOL :D

I had an okay week I guess. AF was due the Tuesday before last, but decided to arrive late, causing me to stress and indulge in things I wouldn't normally have. All weekend I felt ravenous and Sunday night we had fish & chips for dinner. But boy I enjoyed it!

So no weigh in for last Saturday, but I weighed in this morning and have lost 1.6kg in the 2 week period, so am very happy with that.

So Hot Today!

It is so humid today it is ridiculous. After getting home from the school run I put the air con on and threw dinner in the slow cooker (beef stroganoff). :)

I then did the vacuuming in my bra & undies, then threw on some shorts and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Thankfully the air con unit is in the same room as the treadmill. LOL I then did the mopping and here I am waiting for the floors to dry.

I am dreading going upstairs for a shower as it will be like an oven up there. Seems pointless really as by the time I get downstairs I will be dripping sweat again. Might risk ducking downstairs in a towel and get changed in front of the air con. Thank goodness for blinds!! ROFL

Happy Valentine's Day

And hubby is fast asleep in bed after working until 4am this morning. No flowers waiting for me this morning, though I definitely didn't expect any.

We went to Sizzler last night for dinner with my family, before DH went off to work. I was pretty good with my eating. I ordered salmon which came with rice, and also had a big plate of salad. Though I couldn't resist eating a few chips and also a piece of cheese toast. The annoying thing was it was after my meal, and we were just sat there chatting, but then I started picking. In hindsight I should have got the waitress to remove any temptation I guess.

I have finished my 30 day challenge on the Wii EA Games Sports Active game. I can now either repeat it again at a higher intensity, though not sure if it will be the same exercises repeated or a variation. Or I can tailor the exercises to whatever I like, or pick one of the other workout programs. I will probably choose the latter I think, and still combine it with some walking on the treadmill.

I've Cracked 100 !!

Woo Hoo I have finally cracked the 100kg mark.

A good loss this week of 1.5kg. :D I'm pretty impressed considering AF is due soon.

I am now at the weight I was when I started back in 2005. Eeek!

Now that I've hit the 5 kilo lost mark, I'm going to book myself in to have a massage & facial. DH got me a voucher for my birthday, so I will be using that. I can't wait. :)

I think my 10kg reward will be some new makeup.

I got up this morning and exercised first thing, just to get it out of the way. I find with the family home on the weekends exercise can become the last thing I want to do.

The Morning After

After a late night (into bed at about 1:30am), I am feeling a bit sluggish today.

Had a great night out last night. I had lemon pepper barramundi with salad & chips. The chips were a smallish sized portion and quite thick cut, so I ate them. I also would have had about 5 glasses of water while there.

Forced myself to do my Wii exercise, and I'm glad I have done it. It's out of the way for today anyway. Now just to force myself to fold the washing. Ugh!

I may just have a few rum & diet cokes tonight as well I think. ;)

100kg

I weighed in this morning at 100kg. Was hoping I might have gone under the 100 mark, but a good consistent loss nonetheless. :)

I'm going out to dinner tonight with some friends, and pretty much know what's on the menu, so it's a toss up between a stir fry (which I've had before & it was okay), or a steak and salad. I'll be sticking to water though as I'm driving, so no calories from alcohol. LOL

I'm also going to try to use this blog to keep track of my exercise for the week.

Exercise for today: Half an hour on the treadmill (included a jog at one stage). LOL

Unsure

I'm unsure how tomorrow's weigh in will go. I ended up having a Weight Watchers meal last night, that had rice in it, so hopefully that won't have an effect by tomorrow mornings weigh in. Tonight I'm planning on a stir fry with lots of veges for dinner.

Today I went shopping so walked around a fair bit, also did my Wii exercise this morning. I was good and had a Coffee Club healthy choice toasted bread with turkey, cranberry & salad. Very nice! :)

Just for you Fiona! :P

I've been told to get my butt in here and post, so here I am. :D

After Sunday being my no exercise day, I've upped my exercise since then. I've done almost an hour each day, mostly 25 mins on the Wii game, then half an hour on the treadmill. I must say that I am over this sweating business. I swear I've never sweat so much in my life, since I've started exercising this time.

Monday night we had kangaroo mini roasts for dinner. They were quite nice and very tender, but best of all were 98% fat free. I didn't bother trying the boys with it, so they had chicken instead, but DS15 did enjoy his "roo sandwich" for lunch the next day. LOL

Last night was my mother's birthday, so more entertaining here. No bbq this time though, but roast pork, roast potatoes (cooked separate to the pork, so not sitting in fat), corned meat and salad. I had a little bit of everything, but passed on the pasta salad & coleslaw. I did have a small dinner roll with no butter. Seeing as my Dad had made the birthday cake, I had the tiniest of pieces, well it wasn't really a piece, more like some crumbs, but it was nice!

I've been trying to hold off weighing myself each day, but it's not happening. After a good result earlier in the week, I was disappointed to see the scales up again the following morning. Though I think it may be the fact that we had rice the night before, that made me weigh heavier.

Am planning on having sushi for lunch, so will see if that makes a difference to tomorrow's weight. :)

Sunday Bludge Day

I have made today my Sunday Bludge Day. I have diligently exercised every day for 3 weeks now, so feel that I deserve a day off. Plus it is my rest day on the Sports Active 30 day challenge.

We had friends over for a bbq last night, so I made sure I got an hours exercise done on the Wii. I had quite a few rum & diet cokes but limited my snacking to low fat dips, rice crackers & pretzels. Bbq'd chicken breast & salad was dinner, so overall I thought I did pretty well.

This morning I woke up made my coffee & the darn computer wouldn't turn on! So I busied myself with folding 3 baskets of washing and doing some other washing. I then go to use the dryer and it was making some god awful noise. Thankfully DH has fixed it, and it's now whirring away. Hopefully we get some sunshine this week so it doesn't get much use.

I then went upstairs and had a lovely Nanna nap. I woke up ravenous and ate some leftover chicken from last night and some corn thins. I was going to jump on the treadmill for a while but decided that I would have a break today and get back into it tomorrow.

Can't wait for The Biggest Loser to start tonight!! :D

Up 100g from yesterday's weight, but I'm happy with a 0.7kg loss. :)

I am pretty sore this morning from my workout yesterday. My butt muscles especially. Those squats that you hold for 30 seconds are a killer! :o

Max's Birthday

Today my youngest son Max turned 6. I can't believe that he is growing up and is now in Grade 1. :(

We had a bbq tonight with my family and had sausages and some chicken breasts I had marinated. I stuck to the chicken breasts and salad and no dessert or cake. But I did have a few nibbly things I probably shouldn't have. A few chips, a couple of cheezels, some of Mum's yummy cheese ball.

I will try to get an hour's exercise in tomorrow to compensate.

Weigh-in in the morning. Though I did weigh this morning just out of curiousity. If I weigh heavier tomorrow, I may take this mornings weight as my official weight. LOL

Back to School

My boys are now all officially back at school!! Yipee!! Woo Hoo!! The last few days of these holidays have been challenging with them.

We had a lovely Australia Day yesterday. My mother's family does a big fun day complete with sauasage sizzle lunch. But I went prepared with my grilled chicken breast and left over vege frittata from the night before.

Lots of fun was had with games like tunnel ball, tug of war, and lots of swimming. The boys had a great time playing cricket as well.

I was pretty good with my eating. I'd taken low fat dips, carrot sticks, rice crackers & pretzels, so I snacked on those. Though I did have a few chips late afternoon. Then when we got home I felt like a drink, and there was a lonesome can of Coke sitting in the fridge, so I ended up having 2 rum & cokes.

Oh well, I think I have burnt it off this morning. I'm going to try a new routine in the mornings from hereon in. Instead of getting up, making the lunches, then grabbing a coffee and turning on the computer, I'm going to get up, make lunches while I have a coffee, then do my Wii exercise, shower and change, then have breakfast. All hopefully before the boys wake up. Though they were up early this morning and I could hear them arguing upstairs. DH was home so he was able to sort them out and organise breakfast.

After school drop off it was home to start the cleaning. I sweated heaps while vacuuming & mopping, so that must all count for something. ;)

One Hour

One hour's exercise in the bag for today!

Well almost an hour. 30 minutes on the treadmill and 24 minutes doing some sports on the Wii.

Haven't thought about dinner yet tonight. The boys have been pestering me for Subway so we might have that while DH is at work. At least I can make a good choice there.

Last night I was good and had fish & salad for dinner with a handful of lower fat oven chips. :)

Okay, I did a sneaky weigh this morning and am feeling very positive about tomorrow's official weigh in. :D

I have been good with my diet the past couple of days and have also exercised twice during the day. Today I only did my Sports Active workout, but will jump on the treadmill again tomorrow.

Confession Time

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill this afternoon, then sat down on Facebook for a while to finish my water.

My blood sugar must have dropped as I started to feel ravenous. So I went out to start preparing the veges for dinner, but instead of snacking on them I ate spoonfuls of raspberry jam. :(

I will quite often get a low blood sugar type feeling in the afternoon if I haven't had an afternoon snack. I hadn't had a snack this afternoon as we had a late lunch.

I didn't stop at the jam though, I then had a peach, some more jam, and a handful of dried dates.

Motto of this story. Make sure you have had an afternoon snack, especially before exercising.

Movie Morning

This morning I took the boys to the movies to see The Tooth Fairy. Now normally I would sit there and eat a whole bag of chips, but today I bought pretzels and had a few handfuls of those. I couldn't keep Max away from them though! LOL :D I can proudly say that not one of the boys chips passed my lips.

Afterwards I treated them to McDonalds, while I had 2 sushi rolls. Matthew thought it would be funny to wave his chips & burger in front of my face. Little so & so! My only transgression was a mouthful of Zac's Fanta.

Owwwwwwww!

I am so sore today. I can barely climb the stairs and sitting down takes major effort. I guess yesterday's workout must have done some good. I did day 2 of the 30 day challenge on the Wii Sports Active game, so another 30 minutes and over 200 calories burnt. :)

I haven't walked today, as I will give my body a rest I think after yesterday's onslaught. According to the game tomorrow is my rest day, but I may do a few smaller exercises on there. The good thing about it is that you can customise the exercises to one's which you prefer. There's a dancing one on there that should be hilarious. Though I might leave that one until the boys go back to school. They already laugh enough at me !

EA Sport Active

I decided to buy this today with my birthday money. I did a bit of research and a lot of people recommend it over the Wii Fit.

Well after I did my half hour walk, I headed to the shops to buy it. Got it on special which was a bonus! So I grabbed some sushi for lunch, then once home decided to give it a go. OMG I am dripping buckets of sweat. I'm doing a 30 day challenge on it, and it coaches you all the way. It comes with a resistance band as well to use with certain exercises and you can also use it with the Wii Fit board if you want.

All up it said I burnt 147 calories!

First Weigh In

I decided to weigh myself this morning instead of tomorrow morning. We are going out tonight and will be eating later than usual, so I didn't want this to affect the reading on the scales. LOL

So basically a 1.3kg loss this week. Not too bad considering I haven't been overly strict with my eating. I'm still having butter on my toast, so will have to wean myself off that I think.

I will probably jump on the scales in the morning regardless and if I am lighter than today, take that as my official weight for the week. ;)

40 weeks

40 weeks until my sister's wedding.

I wonder if I can lose the weight by then to fit into the black dress I have hanging in the cupboard. It's a size 12 and I've only worn it once before. It would probably be suitable for the wedding.

I guess it all depends on what my goal weight is going to be. At the moment I am just happy to have the kilos disappear every week.

30 or so kilos in 40 weeks. mmmm, I wonder if that is doable? I'll need to live like a nun until then I think. No takeaway or alcohol!

30 minutes

This morning I managed 30 minutes on the treadmill. I was planning for 40, but DH's aunty rang to wish me a happy birthday for yesterday, so I had to cut it 10 minutes short. By the time I got off, I'd lost all desire to get back on there.

Heading off to Wet & Wild this afternoon, so must get DH to duck to the shops for chicken & bread rolls.

Yumm!

(Will make sure mine is packed with salad). :D

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Today I turn 39!

We headed up the coast to the beach this morning and had a lovely swim in the surf with my parents & the boys. We followed it up with a picnic lunch and an icecream for the boys. I had made a healthy zuccini slice with a potato salad and a green side salad. I can't say Max was too keen on it, even though he's eaten it before.


Tonight we are heading out to dinner at our local tavern and I will probably end up having a steak & veges I think. I "may" indulge though and partake in a beverage or 2, with diet coke of course. ;) After all, it is my birthday! :D

It was a hit!

Well the sweet potato, salmon & zuccini quiche was a success. :) The boys ate it all up, except Max who baulked at the zuccini. There were leftovers, but they mysteriously disappeared while I was out shopping and the 15 year old was home on his own. LOL

It is so hot today that I have put the air con on. I should have put it on this morning while I was on the treadmill. Would have made it much more comfortable, especially considering the air con unit is right next to the treadmill. The sweat was pouring off me!

I have been busy in the kitchen making a zuccini pie (minus the oil) for our picnic tomorrow. We are off to the beach for my birthday, and I've been trying to make lunch as healthy as possible. Normally we would grab fish & chips, but I will try to do the right thing. Especially seeing as we are heading out to dinner tomorrow night.

Fish & veges are on the menu tonight. I am trying to be as organised as possible with meals so I don't resort to grabbing the trusty meat pies and shoving them in the oven.

Today I'm feeling a bit blah due to the after effects of a migraine, but I still managed 20 minutes on the treadmill this morning. So I'm pretty happy with myself for that. I also made sure that I had breakfast.

Dum dum de dum .....

I've just weighed myself. :(

I'm hoping that it will be a bit less than that, as I am a routine morning weigher, generally after going to the loo. LOL

I also found some recent photos of myself. As you can appreciate being obese and having photos taken generally don't go in the same sentence, so there are few & far between of me. And definitely no decent ones to speak of!



The one on the treadmill was taken by my 6 year old this morning. He couldn't believe I was on the treadmill!!! The other was on New Years Eve.

Time to Start

I have decided I need to get super serious about losing weight. Yes my sister's upcoming wedding has been the big decider, but also my family have been at me for ages to do it.

But also I need to do it for me! I don't want diabetes in another 5 years time. With my last pregnancy I developed gestational diabetes, so I have an increased risk of developing diabetes within 10 years from the birth.

This blog will be my food & exercise diary as well as any other rambling thoughts I might like to add.


Let me go back 5 years.

In May 2005 at 98kg, I decided to lose weight. My parents were overseas and I set the goal of 10kgs in 9 weeks. This kept me motivated and I stayed on track with healthy eating & regular exercise. Every day I walked the boys to and from school.

I easily reached that goal, and then decided to join the gym. Fifteen kilos later I decided I was done, but yes went back to regular eating, including far too much takeaway, and I ditched the gym or any form of exercise for that matter.

Before I knew it I had put all the weight back on plus more! I am now more heavier than I have ever been. I am not exactly sure of my weight, but am about to head off for a shower after walking on the treadmill, so will weigh myself then. :O
