Back on the Straight & Narrow

After a pretty good week I was rewarded with a 1.5kg loss this week. I'm quite happy with that. :)

I've decided that February will be spent alcohol free! I'm hoping it will kickstart my weight loss even further and I figure every little bit helps. I'm not a big drinker, but drinks on the lawn with our neighbours of an afternoon and weekend had become far too frequent.

I could have been a bit stricter with my eating this week, but I did manage to exercise 5 out of 7 days. :)

Yesterday we went for a lovely cooling swim at Kings Beach, Caloundra, then headed into the hinterland and had lunch at Maleny where it was raining. I took some breadrolls and we had hot chip rolls with sauce for lunch. Yumm! I partook in these as a reward for my week, but also so that I feel I'm not depriving myself of too much.

Here's to another good week. So far today DH & I went on a 50 minute walk around our local area. It's quite sad to see how devastating the floods were to our local creeks, parks and walking tracks.

What a Week!



Well as most of you would know Qld, and now other parts our country, are in a flood crisis. The massive clean up has begun in parts of Qld, but for other states it will be just beginning.

We had a close call on Tuesday when our local creek across the road from us broke it banks and flooded the reserve. It also flooded our street down the lower end and cut us off from getting out of the estate.

Thankfully the rain stopped and the creek started to drop.

Thankfully by morning the water had totally receded. Local areas around us were hit hard, like the local major park, and a few bridges needing work done. Though nothing like thousands of Brisbane & Ipswich people have been hit. :(



So consequently my eating has been a bit hit & miss this week. I turned 40 on Thursday so had a few celebratory drinks and dinner out with my family, then dinner out last night with a few girlfriends. Absolutely no exercise done at all. So will start anew tomorrow.

Today's weight = 91.7kg



Well over the 90kg that I hoped to stay in the vicinity of, but that's what you get I guess after 2 weeks of slacking off over Christmas. I'm not that bothered by it, especially as I was over 93kg at the start of last week. That was also on the 1st day of AF. I haven't really done too much exercise this week, but have tried watching what I eat, but did have a few slip up's.

Hopefully this week the scales will continue to go down, though with 2 birthday celebrations I'll have to be extra careful.

I can't believe ..........

How long it has been since I last blogged. :( Definitely because I have been slack and fallen off the weight loss wagon. Well in truth, I get on, get off, get on, get off.

My weight since Christmas has snuck back over the 90kg mark, though I am not going to weigh myself this week as dreaded AF has arrived, and the gain from that would depress me even more.

October was an extremely busy month for me. I had my sister's hens weekend, a girls weekend away, then a weeks break, then my sister's wedding. This played havoc with my eating & drinking and all good eating & exercise went out the window. I stayed in this mode for the next couple of months, then next thing you know, it's Christmas.

So now it's time to get back on the straight and narrow. Next week I turn 40 and instead of having a party, I'm going on a cruise up to Cairns with some girlfriends. I have about 12 weeks to lose 12 kilos, which I "think" is achievable. I'd love to be under 80kg by then, so will use this as motivation.

Bridge to Brisbane




Well I did it!!!

My sister & I walked 10kms in 1 hr 48 mins & 20 seconds. She actually beat me by 1 second even though we crossed the finish line together.

We even managed a few short jogs towards the end. Our goal was to do it under 2 hours so I'm happy that we did that.

I can't wait to do it again next year, though I will hopefully be able to jog a fair portion of it, and I will be wearing lycra! :D

It's been a while

Oh dear, I just realised how long it's been since I last blogged.

After getting under 90kg I really let my foot off the brake and lost the plot for a bit. I stopped exercising and my eating was not under control. I did keep weighing in though, and have updated my stats over to the right.

Now I'm back and more in control than ever. I've set myself a 5kg loss by my sister's wedding on the 30th October, which hopefully I should be able to achieve if I stay focussed and motivated.

I have had a good couple of weeks with exercise going on lots of walk with a friend and my neighbour friend. :) We did a big 9.5km walk last weekend in preparation for the Bridge To Brisbane that I will be walking in tomorrow with my sister. I'm not too sure about the super early start though. We have to be there well and truly by 6:00, so with travel and parking will need to leave home around 4:00am! I'll be tired before I even get to the start line let alone the finish line.



I had a good loss this week of 1kg with 0.5kg the week before. Numbers I hope I can repeat from week to week. :)

Exactly Half Way

Wow, I only just realised now when I updated my ticker, that I'm exactly half way to being at goal. There's no way I'm going to get there by my sister's wedding in October, but I'll be happy if I can drop 5kg by then. And to be at goal by my 40th birthday in January would be wonderful, so there's another goal to keep me going. :)

Last week I think I stayed the same, but this week had a good loss of 1.2kg, making me an 80's girl!!! :D

A slight gain...

After an okay week I had a gain of 200g this week (monday weighed in).

I was pretty good with my food throughout the week, but had a few social gatherings that left me snacking more than I should. Lower fat choices, but still snacking nonetheless.

So far so good this week, with exercise happening every day except for today as I was out for the day.

I got my DS to take a progress photo of me tonight.

So comparing with one of my bigger photos from December last year around the 104kg mark.





And tonight at 90 something kilos. :)

Woo Hoo!!!

2.5kg down for the week!!!!! :D

I guess technically only half of that is new weight lost, but heck I'm as happy as a pig in mud.

All in all I've had a pretty good week. I've eaten right and exercised on most days. The days I didn't exercise, the next day I've then done a longer walk to make up for it.

I think I've done pretty well especially seeing as I also have AF. I know I know TMI, but it all makes a difference.

So this week I shall continue on the same way. It's a public holiday here and looking pretty dismal, so I'll try to get half an hour on the treadmill in between breaking up fights between the boys. Aaarrgggh!!

Update


I thought it was about time I updated my blog with my progress for the week.

Things are going good. :) I've managed to exercise every day except for yesterday, unless you count walking around doing the grocery shopping. LOL This morning I went for an hours walk to the shops and back, so that should make up for yesterday.

While there I bought the new Weight Watchers magazine and a few things for lunch. I made toasted turkish pide with avocado, spinach & rocket, 97% fat free ham, and a poached egg. It was very nice. :)

A slight hiccup ......

It seems my weight loss efforts have suffered a slight hiccup. It started when DH went away on a work trip about 2 weeks ago. I decided on the Thursday night that I would treat the boys to KFC on the way home from guitar practice. Bearing in mind that I had not eaten any KFC since at least January, and not at all while I had been losing weight.

I shall add here that KFC is my fast food drug of choice. And it behaved exactly like a drug. Saturday night my eldest had gone to see the bull riding with a mate, middle child was at his mate's for a sleepover, so it was just youngest son & myself at home. He got McDonalds and I had Brodie's chicken burger & chips. This led into Sunday's bad eating of pizza for dinner, which then snowballed into Monday's KFC for lunch.

To say I was disgusted with myself is an understatement. To resist KFC for so long and then have it launch me onto the road to takeaway hell. :( I know ultimately it was up to me, but hell I enjoyed it.

And now I pay the price, as of course I did not exercise during this week from hell and consequently have gained exactly 2kg since my last weigh in on the 22 May.

So here's to a new start. And time to exercise .............

Early weigh in.

I decided to weigh in a couple of days early this week. Mainly because I am going out tonight and will be having a few drinks and more than likely eating too much. But also seeing as I didn't weigh last week, I wanted to see the results from this week. :)

Very happy overall with a 1kg loss for the week, or 2 weeks if you take into account me not weighing in last week due to AF.

I didn't exercise every day, I skipped Thursday & Friday, but plan some form of exercise today. Probably the cross trainer & treadmill I think.

Today I faffed around all morning doing the laundry, Facebook, more laundry, then made some banana bread for school lunches. By this stage I couldn't face the thought of getting on the treadmill for a mindless walk, so I ended up putting on my shoes, slapped on some sunscreen and got out in the fresh air.

I probably did about half an hours walk, with a few hills thrown in. But best of all I felt great once I got home. :)

No Weigh In Today

Morning. :) And what a grey & dismal morning it is in Brisbane. Hubby is home today so he's doing the school run for me. I have a heap of housework to get through, but am planning on exercising first. I figure I might give that cross trainer a go. I plan to aim for 10 minutes to start with as I remember how brutal they are the first few times. LOL

Anyway, I decided not to weigh in today as AF has reared her ugly head and she's never nice to me on the scales. Plus I need to put some new batteries in the scales. And how cold is it of a morning now!! Ugh to stripping off for weigh ins. LOL :D

I must stop procastinating now and get moving.

You've Got To Love A Bargain!!

One of the streets in our estate had a few houses having a garage sale this morning. So I headed down with 2 of the boys in tow. I managed to pick up a few things, some tupperware and a brand new backpack. I spotted a cross trainer there for $50, but ummed and ahhed about it all morning.

So after we'd been home and had breakfast I sent DS15 to see if it was still for sale. It was still there and was now $40, so DH went down and had a good look over it, and got it for $30. It is perfect! Now we just have to find a spot for it. It will fit in the family room where the treadmill is but DH's grandfather's old recliner might need a new home. I've been on at it for years now to get it restored, but I think it's past that now. :(





I've once again been feeling pretty unmotivated this weekend and have only exercised the once. I'm hoping I will feel motivated with new equipment to use. :)

Happy Mother's Day

Some mornings I would love to sleep in, but once I wake the toilet calls and my back seizes up just lying there, so I have to get up.

Two out of my three boys are up and husband is reading the paper, with not a single Happy Mother's Day from any of them. Oh well, I guess I am in here with my coffee. A busy day planned with DS13's football game, laying my Nan's plaque at the cemetry, and lunch with the inlaws, followed by a visit to my family.

Technically weigh in isn't until tomorrow but I decided to weigh in a day early seeing as I would be having some form of Italian for lunch. I also had a few drinks last night, I know breaking my alcohol ban, but anyway, I weighed in at 1.1kg lighter. And would you believe I hadn't really exercised all week!

Monday we did the big bushwalk, then I did nothing until yesterday when I went for 2 walks along our local walking tracks. First one in the morning with a friend and then later in the afternoon with same friend's family to feed the ducks, though the kids ended up feeding the horses as the ducks weren't interested.
